How do I know if he is really flirting with me?

I met this guy in late June and we became friends, but kind of stopped talking for awhile. I ran into him 4 days ago on sunday at a party and the next day he asked me to go to a movie with him on a monday. It seemed like we were just getting together to catch up. He is a really flirtatious guy. He talks to everyone and always wants to be the center of attention. He says some things that with anyone else I would think was flirting. So how do I know if he's flirting or just being friendly?

With flirts it's really tough to know when they're being serious or just doing their thing. There are a few ways to find out though:

-By your message I'm guessing you're not generally flirty like him, so the next time he does it flirt back and see his reaction.

-Ask him. Next time he flirts smile and ask "Are you flirting with me?" If he gets flustered then he probably is, if he denies it then say "Too bad" and if he admits it smile and say something like "Well, that's good to know".

-Wait it out. This takes longer and can be frustrating but is generally what girls do. If he likes you eventually he'll try to do something about it, if he doesn't make some kind of a move after you've spent a fair amount of time together then he's not interested romantically.

-Lastly, if he talks about dating other girls and his love life then he sees you as a friend.

He asked me if I was single. I think he's probably a little interested, but it's just hard to tell with guys who are like that.
