Rainy Day Date Ideas

One Big Slip 'n' Slide
When the rain starts falling, adventurous types start seeing the world as one big slip 'n' slide. To fully experience this, put on your rain gear and drive over to a park with some grassy hills. Once at the top, get a good running start and see how far you can go! Bring along a few trash bags if you need extra slippiness.

Cuddle Next to a Fire
Nature's giving you an enormous excuse to stay inside and snuggle up next to a crackling fire, it'd almost be rude not to use it. Don't forget the s'mores and cocoa.

Bowling
Bowling ranks well on a normal day, but it's definitely towards the top of any rainy day activities list. Just try not to think about who was in those shoes last (or what).

Skating
Like bowling, skating moves up the list a few notches when your outdoor options are limited. Spend an hour at the local ice or roller rink.

Coffee Shop Games
Warm coffee shops are a great place to sit and watch the rain come down, especially if they have a big deck or other covered outdoor areas. Bring along Scrabble, cribbage, or a pack of cards to pass the time.

Museum
Cold, wet days are perfect opportunities for you to take a stroll through the local museum.

Movie Time
This is the perfect time to catch a double feature at the local googleplex, sneaking into the 2nd film of course, or have a movie marathon at home. The home movie option is fun because you can order pizza or Chinese and stream the movies of your choice. No travel necessary! Maybe a good opportunity to watch an entire season of your favorite show or do a theme day (kung fu anyone?).

Games, Games, Games
Monopoly, Clue, and all your other favorites can be great rainy day games. Spend the day lying around the house, drinking cocoa, and working your way through that old closet full of games. If you're not into board games, try something that can be more edgy like 20 Questions or Truth or Dare.

A Walk in the Rain
For those of you who won’t be penned in by a little rain, I salute you! Let's face it, the human body’s pretty much watertight anyway, so what's all the fuss about? Put on your rain gear (or not) and go for a walk. Find out who's the best puddle-jumper!

Unleash your artsy side at the local ceramics shop. Paint up mugs for cocoa and bowls for soup that you can use the next time it rains.
