Her and I know we like each other, and going at it slow getting to know each other through friendship. It's been a little over a month and I've asked her if she'd like to go out this Valentines. She accepted and I'm trying put something fun together. I was wanting to go to this Italian restaurant that I love and I think she'd like as well. Other things are limited since the weather might be bad and she gets easily cold. What should I do? I'd hate to go to or rent a movie for our first date. It's just not as engaging or for what dates are suppose to accomplish. How about the design shirt idea? ...orrr jam out?: She plays the guitar and I'm a drummer. She's a skateboarder and I'm a rollerblader. What about taking bread and crackers down to a duck pond? She's willing to do anything, and is leaving it up to me on how romantic to make it. I feel my ideas are too casual.

Taking her to your favorite restaurant is a good start, she'll like that you're sharing one of your spots. I wouldn't worry about making it too romantic since you're just starting out, but you could try a casual romantic date like ice skating or roller skating. The shirts idea is a lot of fun if you want to do that during the day but that still leaves you with nothing to do after dinner. Although watching a movie doesn't seem as boring after you spend the day making shirts. I'd suggest bundling her up, bringing a thermos of hot cocoa and trying the stargazing date (no moon this Valentine's) but if the weather's a prob where you are then outside stuff is a bad idea. What about lighting a fire or a bunch of candles at your place and listening to an old radio show like in our classic radio broadcast date? That can be romantic and original. You could also park somewhere and do the drive-in movie for two date to watch a movie with a fun twist.

Wow, thanks for the tips, dude! That really helps. I feel a little more confident now. Star gazing I'll have to search out a spot in the country for; that won't be hard. And that classic radio broadcast thing? I live near Tulsa, so I guess we'd probably have that. well thank you much!

No prob Jarod, happy to help. It doesn't matter where you live with the radio broadcast, you can download them. Check out the full date idea on the site for details.

feeding the ducks is romantic but isn't that bad for them? a long walk on the beach is romantic too

I'm not anywhere by a beach, and it's cold here, so the ducks could use come fuel in their bodies to keep them warm. She loves feeding the ducks from the last time I took her. She's lived in this town for like 8 years and she's never to the duck pond. Ducks and geese are funny, and we're the humorous type.

Drinking champagne and jamming out to a bunch of cheesy love songs sounds like fun!

We don't drink. I'm just old enough to, but she isn't. Thanks for the idea though. We may get on our drums and electric and see what we can do; we never played with each other before. I've got an idea that this may be really fun.
