Valentines Day

So my boyfriend is 18 and I am 15, we are both still in highschool and he does not have his "N" licence. This creates such a problem because we want to go for a date on valentines day, but without parents getting involved. We have been going out, on and off for the past year, but his parents dont particularily like the age difference thing. I was thinking that we should go skating and then see "valentines day". Is this a good idea, or too casual? He wants me to plan the date.
