Treasure Hunt hiding spots

Here is the plan, I am going to create a puzzle for my wife's birthday. On each piece will be a reason why I love her. I want to hide these around the city with a clue to the next piece attached to each piece of the puzzle. While she is out hunting down the pieces I will be home cooking her favorite dinner so I need this to take awhile.
What I need are suggestions of where to hide them. Some ideas I had so far are:
park where we first met
city library in her favorite book (or maybe one that I know no one will check out)
maybe a retail store at the mall

Any other suggestions?

Did you read the treasure hunt date idea? There's a lot of good stuff in it:

Yes I read that and it did have some good ideas but nothing for specific locations to hide stuff.

Gotcha, well the park is a good idea and I really like the favorite book, I did something similar for a geocache once. Along those lines, maybe you could hide one or two more in the library and use riddles for her to find them? Lead her to a book about your favorite, first, or dream vacation together - things like that?
But for other good spots:
-Where you proposed
-First "I love you"
-First apartment
-Favorite coffee shop or hangout
-View of the city or a place you hiked and picnicked?
Even though you want her out for a while, she might not be as enthusiastic after 1/2 hour or so of driving around. Maybe include some little gifts along the way like chocolate to keep her excited?

Those are some good ideas. I might do multiple ones at each location so she doesn't have to drive around a lot.

I was planning on putting candy with each one after talking it over with some friends at work.

I had one last thought, since you need her out of the house for like an hour/hour and a half you could make the last clue lead to a nearby day spa and have a 1/2 hr massage waiting. She'll be relaxed and happy when she gets home.
