Why is going this fast?

one night we talked on the phone for a really long time, we were just friends at the time, but i liked him, and i think he liked me too. anyways he mentioned that most of the time when he says i love you to one of his girl friends he doesnt mean it, he only says it because his girl said it first. a couple days later he asked me out and we talked all day. when he was saying goodbye he told me he loves me and i freaked. i put "luv yew 2" but i kno i didnt really mean it. is this weird or am i just tripping?

That does seem a kinda fast but maybe you're just that lovable. :)
I'm guessing the reason he told you girls usually say it to him first is because he was already feeling strongly about you and maybe testing the waters in his head. So that when he said it to you you'd know he really meant it. Of course he might not have thought he was going to say it that soon but people don't always do rational stuff when they're in love.
I'd say go with it but if he goes overboard with the 'I love you's then feel free to say "maybe we should slow down a little."
