Just like in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, this golden ticket template is based on the ones that Willy Wonka sent out all over the world in Wonka Bars. The ticket is a replica of the one used in the latest movie, which I prefer (the design that is) to the version used in much-beloved movie from the 70s.

The other day I noticed that someone on pinterest downloaded and used these in a creative way by putting a few into one of those giant Hershey's bars and then resealing it before giving them to her boyfriend as a 1 year anniversary gift. Great idea!

As with all of our love coupons, the gifts you decide to give are completely customizable in the pdf. Just fill out the light blue form fields, print it out on metallic gold paper, cut along the dotted lines, and you're done!

The only potential issue with this is the paper. I really wanted to find some gold foil paper that would go through an inket or laser printer, but I couldn't locate a decent solution that was affordable. Luckily, I stumbled across a paper that works in home printers and has a nice metallic, sparkly shine at only $5 for a package of 10 sheets. (that's 30 golden tickets!)

The manufacturer is Wausau Paper and it's one of their Royal Metallics cardstock papers. After striking out at Office Depot and Staples, I was able to find it at Kelly Paper. They also offer larger quantities for $10 and $20, which is more paper than you'll use, so be sure to call around to find the right one - don't waste time driving around like me. The specific item is #46202, which may help.

If anyone finds a reasonable gold foil solution that looks like it's right out of the movie, please let me know.

This is what one of the golden tickets looked like when I was finished. They're a little under 7" wide and around 3" tall. Okay, I know the ticket looks kinda grainy in this photo but the end result is good. Trust me! :)
