BF found old letters and we had a huge fight

Im so scared! My b/f of more then a year found old love letters from my last b/f when he was over this weekend. I told him their just keepsakes and he was only mad until he saw one from when we were already together...I told him it was nice note sent by ex to tie up loose ends but he was already so mad and stormed out. Ive been calling and texting but hes not responding and i'm prolly gonna go by his work to see him. What can I say to make him understand?

Be honest. Tell him you kept the old letters as mementos, like you do with birthday and Christmas cards. It's not your fault an ex decided to write you a letter after you'd already moved on but it had some nice things to say so you decided to keep it. I wouldn't do anything rash like offering to burn all the old letters, this guy should realize that you had a life before he came along and it wasn't all bad.
